Hey,
Today my sister and I got into a heated arguement about discipling her 3 boys who are close to becoming teenagers. As their aunt, I find it hard to watch her spank them. I know being a single parent can be hard and frustrating, but I really think she is taking her anger out on the boys. I'm trying to come up with different solutions she can use besides spanking. She always say since they do not have a father figure in their life she has to be harder on them and spanking them will make them "tough" but I just can not argue with her on this one. What about making them do push ups or run a mile when they misbehave??? What do you guys suggest?
A Proud Aunt
Personally, I think having them do push ups or run a mile is a very good idea. I have a friend who does this to on sons and it is working great for them. Not only does it discipline them but it also keeps them in shape! ;)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I completely agree that being a single parent can be frustrating. She just needs to learn how to take time for herself and relax. I'm sure everything will work out fine.
You should talk to your sister. Let her know that your best interest is with the kids and you are only trying to help. Talk to her about the discipline methods you have come up with. You may get a positive response.
